As in most industries, new developments and technological changes occur from time to time. Even with the proven record and strong traditional acceptance of natural corks, a new and modern addition to the cork stopper has been created and is now available. Jelinek Cork Group is part of this new innovation. The synthetic cork has been successfully commercialized in recent years. In most cases, the synthetic wine cork is not replacing natural corks but rather adding to new packaging and marketing fashions.

T-Top (or Bar Top) Synthetic Cork Stoppers
There are standard sizes of T-Tops to fit most common wine and spirit bottles. However Jelinek also produce many custom sizes for specific packaging needs and projects, producing their own molds and dies at very economical prices. In fact if quantities are sufficient there is often no additional costs for custom produced stoppers.
Synthetic corks bonded to plastic tops. Tops can be printed, embossed or plain in any color. Often used to stopper spirits, maple syrups, and wines.
Pictured are silver colored wooden tops bonded to synthetic corks. Used by both the liquor and cosmetic industries. Wooden tops are available either in natural wood or in any desired color and can be printed, branded, or embossed.
One piece t-top synthetic corks. Tops can be printed or embossed. Used by many bottlers of spirits, wines, oils and vinegars.

Synthetic Cork Formulation
Synthetic stoppers are produced in a unique formulation allowing for a dual density foam core. Controlled, uniform skin with just the right touch of compressibility and memory provides a proper seal with no leakage or bacteria holding properties. The compressibility and memory are possible due to a very fine cell structure next to the outer skin that becomes less dense toward the center.
The synthetic cork feeds without problems on the same standard bottling equipment as natural corks. Furthermore, they compress and insert easily; seal immediately; do not transmit flavors; keep wines and spirits fresh and extract easily …. and in the case of synthetic wine corks extract with a standard waiter’s corkscrew.
All components used in the manufacture of these unique closures are FDA approved and are manufactured under the strictest quality control standards.
